About the Role

Field Inspection

A field inspector is responsible for conducting inspections of residential and commercial properties that have suffered damage due to natural disasters or other causes. The field inspector will work for a public adjusting firm and will be responsible for assessing the extent of the damage, identifying the cause of the damage, and providing recommendations for repair or replacement.

The field inspector will be responsible for:

- Visiting damaged properties to assess the extent of the damage
- Examining the property to identify the cause of the damage
- Documenting the damage through photographs, videos, and written reports
- Communicating with homeowners and business owners to explain the damage and the recommended repairs

Working with insurance adjusters to negotiate fair settlements for the property owner
Staying up to date on industry standards and best practices for property inspection and repair
The field inspector should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. A background in construction or engineering is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

  • Here is a list of requirements for a field inspector seeking employment with our firm:

    1. A high school diploma or GED

    2. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and document damage accurately

    3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and insurance adjusters

    4. A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to properties within a designated geographic area

    5. Ability to work independently and take initiative

    6. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software

    7. Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials, climb ladders, and work in a variety of weather conditions

    8. A background in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required

    9. A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check

    10. Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
