About the Role

Contents Loss Specialist

A contents loss specialist is responsible for assessing and documenting the damage to personal property for a public adjusting firm. The contents loss specialist will work with clients and insurance adjusters to negotiate fair settlements for the value of the lost or damaged items.

The contents loss specialist will be responsible for:

- Assessing the extent of damage to personal property, including clothing, furniture, appliances, and other household items
- Documenting the damage through photographs, videos, and written reports
Identifying the cause of the damage
- Communicating with clients and insurance adjusters to negotiate fair settlements for the value of the lost or damaged items
- Maintaining accurate records of the damages and settlements
- Working with clients to develop plans for repair or replacement of damaged items
- Staying up to date on industry standards and best practices for personal property inspection and valuation

The contents loss specialist should have at least 2 years of experience in claims, insurance, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs. Experience with inventory management and valuation of personal property is also required.

    5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheet software, and email

    6. Experience with inventory management and valuation of personal property

    7. Ability to work independently and take initiative

    8. A clean background check and the ability to pass a drug test

    9. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required, depending on the position.
